The APS Publishing Platform distinguishes between different stages of content development.
Canonical
Canonical pages represent the stable, authoritative core of the APS framework. These pages have been reviewed and are considered conceptually settled. Changes to canonical content are controlled and tracked through revision dates.
Evolving
Evolving pages are under active development. They may be refined, expanded, or reorganised as the framework progresses.
Draft
Draft pages are provisional and may undergo substantial revision.
Revision Tracking
All pages include a "Revised" date indicating the most recent update. This ensures that citations and references can be tied to a specific version of the content.
Purpose
Versioning supports:
- transparency in development
- stability of core concepts
- ongoing refinement without loss of continuity
This system allows APS to function as a living but disciplined body of work.
