Substantive APS Theory and Comparative Research Practice

Within this article APS makes two complementary contributions.

First, it is treated as one organisational research programme among others, whose explanatory architecture can itself be examined comparatively.

Second, APS contributes the comparative explanatory methodology through which organisational research programmes may be analysed systematically while preserving their distinctive explanatory organisations.

These two roles should be understood as complementary rather than conflated.
