Dependency relations do not disappear when biological organisation becomes reciprocal.
Living systems are characterised by feedback, mutual regulation, and constraint closure. Components often contribute to the maintenance of the very organisation upon which they depend.
This reciprocity does not invalidate dependency claims.
A process may depend upon another process for its emergence while later contributing to its maintenance, regulation, or modification.
Architectural dependency therefore identifies organisational requirements, whereas constraint closure describes the reciprocal organisation through which those requirements are continually sustained.
Dependency and feedback are complementary features of biological organisation rather than competing explanations.
